Tower Hill Nabs Private Equity Pro

New York-based merchant banking boutique Tower Hill Securities Inc. has brought Ziad K. Abdelnour on board as its new managing director of private placements. The market veteran has been involved in the placement of over $2.5 billion of securities over his 15-year career.

Previously a managing director and head of private finance at Ladenburg Thalmann, Adbelnour also spent over a decade as an investment banker with Drexel Burnham Lambert where he was involved in everything from traditional senior debt to convertible transactions.

In explaining his move to Tower, Abdelnour said, “I think we have a very sound business model and most of our major competitors in the Internet/merchant banking market have been big successes… and I think we’re going to be the next kid on that block.”

Tower Hill merged last month with Walnut Financial Services and is now considered the broker-dealer business unit of THCG Inc. THCG is a management investment organization that specializes in providing a wide range of financial solutions for small and mid-sized Internet-related companies.

The company is publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol THCG.
