Veteran Abry dealmaker Brent Stone to leave the firm

Stone joined Abry in 2002 and focused on areas like insurance services, healthcare IT, education and entertainment.

Brent Stone, a long-time dealmaker with Abry Partners, is leaving the firm after more than two decades working on deals in various sectors, according to sources.

It’s not clear if Stone has left yet or when his last day is. He is no longer listed on Abry’s website, though his LinkedIn profile still indicates he is a partner at the firm. He did not respond to a LinkedIn connection request.

A spokesperson for Abry declined to comment.

Stone joined Abry in 2002 and focused on areas like insurance services, healthcare IT, education and entertainment, according to his biography. Prior to Abry, Stone worked at Credit Suisse and Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette.

His investments include fintech and insurance company Acrisure, insurance company Confie Seguros, FastMed Urgent Care, healthcare management company HealthTrans, film production and mass media company Legendary Pictures and US Dermatology Partners, according to a cached version of his bio.

Abry closed its most recent flagship pool, Fund IX, on $2.1 billion in 2019.

Abry was formed in 1989 by Andrew Banks and Royce Yudkoff, both of whom worked for Bain & Co focusing on the firm’s media practice.
