Vitesse buys All-Stars Awards

AIM-listed Vitesse Media is buying the rights to the Investor All-Stars Awards ceremonies. The rights are being bought from corporate finance house GP Capital for an initial £33,000 with further payments up to a maximum of £100,000 depending on future performance.

Investor Allstars is an event organised for investors that operate in early stage venture capital investing up to £10m. It is an awards ceremony and dinner to enhance the profile of active early stage investors and facilitate communication between key industry participants. The awards also aim to improve transparency, corporate governance and communication between key industry participants, particularly between private investors and venture capital funds.

Over 400 investors attended the most recent award ceremony, which was a sell-out and was backed by sponsors such as Barclays, Nesta, MTI and Olswang. Awards included VCT of the year and angel network & venture fund of the year. The judging panel included Benchmark, Doughty Hanson and London Seed Capital.

Vitesse already runs events such as the Growth Company Awards and publishes a number of titles geared to growing and small businesses.

Manish Madhvani, GP Capital director, said: “We created these awards to celebrate the growing businesses of the future and the financiers which help them to succeed. The ceremony can only gain in importance now that Vitesse is backing the enterprise.”
