Williams leaves Sand Aire to join Graphite Capital

Sand Aire Private Equity founder David Williams has left the firm to join UK mid-market firm Graphite Capital. Williams joins Graphite as a partner. Sand Aire declined to comment on his departure, but said the firm would be making an announcement in the near future.

Mike Innes, investment director at the Bank of Scotland is also joining Graphite. Both will assume their new positions in October.

Williams has been managing director of Sand Aire since founding the business in January 1997, after 12 years with 3i as an investment director in London. He was directly involved in completing the initial Sand Aire investments into County Hotels plc, Residential Care Group and The Health Clinic plc, and was a non-executive director of both plc’s. He has been closely involved in all of Sand Aire’s subsequent investments and exits.
