CF Private Equity wraps up fourth secondaries fund at $1.1bn

The previous fund closed at $675 million.

CF Private Equity, a Commonfund affiliate, has closed its fourth secondaries fund at $1.1 billion, beating its $750 million target.

The previous fund closed at $675 million.

Alongside the main vehicle, CF Private Equity raised $110 million for a commingled “overage” fund, Commonfund Capital Secondary Partners IV Opportunities Fund, L.P. The fund will co-invest alongside the flagship in investments where there is excess capacity.

Commonfund Capital Secondary Partners IV’s investors include family offices, insurance companies, pensions, RIAs, private wealth platforms, healthcare companies, endowments and foundations.

On the fundraising, Cari Lodge, global head of CF Private Equity Secondaries, said in a statement, “We are extremely grateful for the strong support from our existing and new investors. It has been a very successful fundraise due to our differentiated strategy and our consistent and attractive returns.”

In addition to the fundraising, Hong Pan, Stephen Talbot and George Wu were all promoted to managing director.

CF Private Equity Secondaries invests in the global secondaries market, focusing on smaller transaction sizes. With the closing of Commonfund Capital Secondary Partners IV, CF Private Equity Secondaries has about $3 billion assets under management.
