Chart of the Week: U.S. High-Yield Debt Market Shows Strength

But in beleaguered Europe it’s been a different story. Proceeds from high-yield offerings there are off a whopping 35 percent year to date. Overall, worldwide proceeds from high-yield offerings are down 6 percent, based on dollar volume, dragged down by weakness in Europe and a 64 percent drop in Asia, excluding Japan. Germany has been a bright spot in the region with a year-over-year increase of 30 percent. (Click link below for a larger version of the chart.)
