Lightrock wraps up inaugural climate fund

The fund's backers include First Swedish National Pension Fund, Bay Trust, Carbon Equity, GenZero and Golding Capital Partners.

Lighrock has closed its debut climate fund at 860 million euros, beating its target of 600 million euros.

The fund’s backers include First Swedish National Pension Fund, Bay Trust, Carbon Equity, GenZero and Golding Capital Partners.

LCIF will make investments of 10 million euros to 40 million euros in European and North American growth-stage companies that are focused toward a net-zero economy and building an operating system for climate action.

Pål Erik Sjåtil, the CEO and global managing partner of Lightrock, said in a statement: “I want to extend my grateful thanks to our investors for their confidence in and support of our mission. This is Lightrock’s third successful fund close in little over a year and it represents a resounding endorsement of our mission to scale impact investing.”
