Notably, WestView Capital Partners wrapped up a $430 million fundraise for Westview Capital Partners III LP, its flagship lower mid-market fund. Also Platinum Equity LLC completed fundraising for its third buyout vehicle Platinum Equity Capital Partners III at $3.75 billion.
On the deal side of the market, Thomson Reuters (the publisher of Buyouts) tracked 33 transactions that involved U.S.-based financial sponsors from Aug. 26 to Sept. 6. Six deals disclosed financial terms, combining for $897.4 million. Year-to-date deal volume rose to $82.3 billion.
The largest addition came from the purchase of Genworth Financial Inc’s Wealth Management & Alternative Investments Business. Genworth SPV, a special vehicle between Genstar Capital Inc and Aquiline Capital Partners LLC, acquired the wealth management and alternative investment business of Genworth Financial Inc for $412.4 million.
