MassPRIM adds analyst Haynes to private equity team

Eliza Haynes comes to the $80bn manager from the College of the Holy Cross's investment office.

Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board has added Eliza Haynes to its private equity team, executive director and chief investment officer Michael Trotsky told its investment committee Tuesday.

Haynes comes to MassPRIM from the College of the Holy Cross‘s investment office, where she worked as an analyst. She also graduated from that school in 2018 with a degree in international studies. At Holy Cross, she was involved in the screening, selection and monitoring of investments managers and conducted portfolio analysis. Haynes joined MassPRIM in September.

Haynes is the second Holy Cross graduate and investment office veteran to join MassPRIM’s PE team. Last year, MassPRIM hired another private equity analyst, Sarah Zatoonian, from that same team, as Buyouts reported. She also worked there as an analyst.

Haynes reports to senior investment officer Michael McGirr. The director of private equity at MassPRIM is Michael Bailey, and the rest of the team includes investment officer Alyssa Fiore and Zatoonian.

MassPRIM’s private equity portfolio has had a volatile year amid the coronavirus crisis, but posted strong returns in the third quarter, as Buyouts reported.
