Permira appts in Europe

Permira (formerly Schroder Ventures Europe) has appointed Philippe Robert as a partner and as head of Permira’s Paris office where he will be responsible for the development of the firm’s activities in France.

The Permira team in Paris comprises seven professionals, including two partners. Robert’s appointment, following that of Robert Van Goethem as a partner in Paris, shows the commitment of Permira’s partners to developing activities in France, says the firm.

Also Jerome Louvet has joined Permira’s Paris office from Goldman Sachs.

Christian Neuss joins the Permira’s Frankfurt office from HypoVereinsbank and Alexandre Emery joins the consumer team based in the UK from McKinsey & Co. All three join as investment professionals. Prior to Permira, Neuss spent five years in leveraged finance at HypoVereinsbank in Munich where he focused on financing for LBOs, MBOs and public-to-private transactions for companies including Kiekert AG and Friedrich Grohe AG.

Louvet joins Permira after three years as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in London and Paris.

Emery joins Permira following five years at McKinsey & Co in London, where he was latterly an engagement manager. He has an MBA from Kellogg Business School in Illinois.

Johal joins Permira’s investor relations team based in London after three years working on fund selection and portfolio management within the private equity team at Abbey National Treasury Services.
