Wynnchurch Capital racks up $3.5bn for sixth PE fund

Wynnchurch Capital Partners VI closed less than five months after its initial launch.

Wynnchurch Capital has closed its sixth private equity fund at $3.5 billion, beating its $3 billion target.

Wynnchurch Capital Partners VI closed less than five months after its initial launch.

Fund VI’s limited partners include state pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, insurance companies, corporate pension plans, investment advisors and family offices from around the globe.

On the fundraising, Chris O’Brien, managing partner at Wynnchurch, said in a statement, “We are excited about Fund VI and are thankful for the support and partnership of our new and existing investors. This fundraise is a testament to what our team has accomplished as a firm, and we will continue to invest with the same value-oriented/operationally focused strategy we have developed and refined over the last 25 years.”

Law firm Ropes & Gray, LLP represented Wynnchurch and Lazard Frères & Co was the placement agent.

Based in Rosemont, Illinois, Wynnchurch invests in middle-market companies. The firm has $9.2 billion of regulatory assets under management.
