Turnaround advisory firm Alvarez & Marsal has appointed two new advisors to its European financial industry advisory aervices team.
Joining the team as managing director, Caio Gilberti has over 15 years of experience in international consumer finance and banking. Prior to A&M, he was chief retail banking officer for GE Capital in Europe. Before GE, he was head of venture capital and private equity investments for American Express.
Sharon Mann has been appointed senior associate and also has over 15 years banking experience. She specialises in consumer finance, transaction services, operations and technology management, restructuring and performance improvement. Prior to joining A&M, Mann worked at Citigroup where she was responsible for portfolio acquisition and integration throughout Europe, Middle East and Asia.
In light of the continued distress in the markets, A&M has spent much of 2009 recruiting executives to deal with the financial sector’s increased need for turnaround advice. The appointment of Gilberti and Mann mark the 14th and 15th new hires the firm has made this year.
