Continuing a recent spate of additions to the Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV) partnership, the bi-coastal firm is expected to announce today that Bob Hower has joined the firm. Hower, who will focus on early-stage IT investments, was most recently a director with BancBoston Ventures. He is the second former BancBoston Ventures investor to go to ATV this month, joining former health-care head Jean George (See PEW 2/18, pg. 9).
Last month the firm also added Prabakar Sundarrajan and Ken Noonan as technology partners.
Partially off-setting the additions, Mike Frank recently told fellow partners that he plans to leave ATV sometime next month. Contrary to a published report, however, Frank is not retiring. Private Equity Week was unable to confirm his future plans by press time.
