Axa takes call centre

European private equity house Axa Private Equity has acquired a majority stake in Competence Call Centre (CCC), a European operator of customer care centres for an undisclosed sum.

As part of the transaction, Thomas Kloibhofer, company founder will remain CEO and a stakeholder.

Founded in 1998, CCC is headquartered in Austria and currently operates eight call centres in six countries. The company has plans to expand into new markets in Austria and Eastern Europe and currently employs 1,400 people and has revenues of around €40m.

Director of Axa Private Equity in Germany, Dirk Wittneben said: “Over the course of 11 years, CCC has become a very successful company. It provides call centre services and the firm has assisted millions of customers since its launch. We believe CCC is well placed to grow internationally in the coming years and we’re excited to be able to support the firm with their continued long-term expansion.”
