Bayliss moves to Norton Rose

Norton Rose has hired David Bayliss as a partner in its European private equity team, which has 15 partners across Europe. Bayliss will lead the firm’s private equity initiative from the firm’s London office. Bayliss (43) was previously head of corporate finance at Hammond Suddards Edge, where he had been a partner since 1997. He started his career with Allen & Overy and was formerly a partner in McGrigor Donald and Prettys.

Norton Rose, which has built private equity teams in the UK, France and Germany over the last 18 months, has made a strategic commitment to its international private equity practice. The last 12 months have seen lateral hires of private equity partners, Eric Laplante and Thierry Leleu in Paris and Eric Michel, Ralph Drouven, Dirk Otto, Katharina Specht-Jonen, Alex von Bergwelt and Frank Herring in Germany.
