Benson Elliot hires in Germany

Private equity real estate firm Benson Elliot has appointed Philipp Braschel as principal. He will be responsible for leading the company’s investment strategies in Germany.

Braschel joins the company from Goldman Sachs’ Real Estate Principal Investment Area, where he held the position of executive director. During his tenure at Goldman Sachs, starting in 2000, he managed transactions across Europe, including retail, office and residential investments, development fundings and the acquisition of non-performing loans. In recent years his primary focus has been on Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Benson Elliot recently closed its second private equity real estate fund. Benson Elliot Real Estate Partners III was oversubscribed and closed on €500m.
