The successful candidate will also assist in the evaluation of investment opportunities by using “multiple sources of information about private equity firms such as investment overviews, private placement memorandums and deal sheets to identify investment opportunities,” said the job description.

The investment officer II will work under the general direction of the portfolio manager of private equity. Closing date for applications is April, 1 2014.

See the link on the CalPERS’ website for further details.

Last month, Buyouts reported that CalPERS was seeking a senior portfolio manager for co-investments reporting to Real Desrochers who runs the $31.2 billion private equity program. This month, the pension fund announced it has pared back its allocation target for private equity to 12 percent from 14 percent.

CalPERS managed assets of $281.7 billion as of February 13, 2014.
