Cambridge Consultants, a leading European technology-based design and development company, is to reactivate its spinout business with the creation of a new venture fund. Previous successes for Cambridge Consultants have seen it spinout start-up companies, four of which went on to have a combined market cap of almost £2bn.
Terms of the fund, which is expected to be run in collaboration with an investment partner, are still under negotiation but an announcement is expected this summer.
The fund, when launched, will invest exclusively in Cambridge Consultants’ new ventures. One spinout is anticipated every other year and will likely emanate from the firm’s core markets of wireless technologies, drug delivery, diagnostics, radar and electronics.
