Coller to raise new fund

Secondaries specialist Coller Capital is to launch a new fund this year according to Alex Sao-Wei Lee, a principal based in the firm’s Singapore office.

Speaking at Reuters Private Equity and Hedge Funds Summit, a Reuters news report quoted Lee as saying it was “very likely” that the firm would look to launch a secondaries fund. It would be Coller’s sixth fund – the fifth, which raised £3.3bn two years ago, is over 50% invested.

The firm, which is run by founder Jeremy Coller, currently has around US$8bn under management. It targets positions in venture capital, mezzanine and buyout funds, as well as buying portfolio of companies or stakes in companies. Coller was recently linked with buying the £300m to £400m portfolio reportedly put up for sale by 3i.
