Dunedin sells Trafficlink

Dunedin, an Edinburgh and London-based mid-market private equity house, has sold its interest in Trafficlink, a traffic and travel data business, to ITIS Holdings for £16.5m (US$33.7m).

The sale, structured as an earn-out with £10.5m paid at completion with up to £6m deferred linked to performance, comes seven years after Dunedin provided Trafficlink with a £4m growth financing and generates a money multiple of up to three times.

Livingstone Partners and Olswang advised on the deal.

Trafficlink’s data reaches 42 million people each week with real-time journey information across all modes of transport through broadcasts, business and government including the Highways Agency.

The sale is Dunedin’s twelfth in the last two years, including the sales of Letts Filofax, Caledonian Building Systems, Celtic Inns and Zenith Vehicles Contracts.
