SV Life Sciences promotes Black

SV Life Sciences has promoted Darren Black to partner. He joined the firm in 2003 as a principal, and serves on the boards of Allegiance Hospice, CRI Worldwide, Vitalize and Ricerca Biosciences. The life sciences-focused venture firm also announced that Dr. Hamish Cameron has joined as a venture partner. He previously was CEO of Cambridge Antibody Technology, following its 2006 acquisition by Astra Zeneca, and was also a physician in London.

GA adds Bernstein

John Bernstein has joined growth equity firm General Atlantic as a managing director in its London office. He has spent the past 11 years with Advent International, where he most recently was a partner in charge of the European telecom and tech practice.

Khanna rejoins GIV

Vijay Khanna has rejoined GIV Venture Partners as a general partner. He joined the Chester, Penn.-based firm in 2000, but later left to become vice president of corporate development for SAP.

USVP lassos Lasky

Larry Lasky has joined U.S. Venture Partners as a venture partner, focused on biopharma and biotech opportunities. Lasky was a founding scientist of Genetics Institute, now part of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, and later joined Genentech. He has spent the past five years as a co-founding general partner of Latterell Venture Partners.

CDR promotes two

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice has promoted Kenneth Giuriceo and George Jaquette to partner. Both worked at Goldman Sachs before joining CD&R.

Bowden joins Greylock

Laurel Bowden has joined Greylock Partners Israel as a partner. He previously was with JVP and, before that, was a director with GE Capital.

KP names partner

Chi-Hua Chien has joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers as a partner focused on Internet deals. He previously was an associate with Accel Partners.

Onset hires Ryan

John Ryan has joined Onset Ventures as a partner, with a focus on medical technology opportunities. He previously was with Panorama Capital, where he led the medical device practice.

Colony names Nanula principal

Richard Nanula has joined Colony Capital as a principal based in Los Angeles. He previously was executive vice president and CFO of biotech company Amgen.

Longview adds Icke

John Icke has joined Longview Capital Partners, a Canadian investment firm focused on early stage opportunities in the natural resource sector, as president and COO. He previously was president of Accenture Business Services for Utilities.

Charlesbank promotes Brown

Charlesbank Capital Partners has promoted Kevin Brown to senior vice president of accounting and finance. He joined the firm in 1998 after having served as its predecessor firm as controller.

Trivest names Wilson partner

Trivest Partners has promoted Russ Wilson to principal. He joined the firm last year as an associate, after having spent time at PNC Equity Management and Raymond James Investment Banking.

Ziv joins Giza

Udi Ziv has joined Giza Venture Capital as an executive venture partner, focused on opportunities in the software sector. He previously was general manager of the Small Technology unit at SAP.

Saints hires CFO

Robert Keppler has joined Saints Capital as CFO. He has spent the past decade as CFO for Centennial Ventures and, before that, spent 18 years in various executive positions with Total Petroleum Ltd.

MidOcean names chairman

Mark Angelson, former CEO of RR Donnelley, has joined MidOcean Partners as chairman.
