DCM appoints Bonner general counsel

DCM has named Matthew Bonner general counsel, a newly created position at the early stage venture firm. Bonner will oversee legal matters involving investments, fund operations and domestic and international regulatory compliance. He will also serve as an advisor to the management teams of the firm’s portfolio companies. Previously, Bonner was a corporate and securities attorney with Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian LLP.

Boston Ventures promotes to partner

Boston Ventures has promoted Louis Bertocci and Justin Harrison each to partner. Bertocci joined Boston Ventures in 1996 and has been active in the firm’s communications investments, including the cable, telecom and wireless sectors. Harrison joined in 1999 and has been active within the firm’s communications, publishing and information investments.

Lightyear adds Shettle

John Shettle

has joined Lightyear Capital as a fulltime senior advisor. He previously was president and CEO of insurance company The Schinnerer Group.

Ronald joins Veritas

Veritas Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm focusing on defense, government services and aerospace sectors, announced that Mark Ronald has joined as a special advisor. Ronald is the former chairman and CEO of BAW Systems Inc. He currently serves on the board of Veritas portfolio company DynCorp International Inc.

Allianz chief Ang departs

Wanching Ang

, considered one of the most influential women in European finance, has resigned as CEO of fund of funds manager Allianz Private Equity Partners, where she also served as a managing director and head of the firm’s Munich office. Ang joined Allianz in 1999, after having previously served with Apax Partners.

Beecken Petty adds two

Chicago-based health care investor Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Co. has added Timothy Sheehan as a partner and M. Troy Phillips as a vice president. Previously, Sheehan focused on health care transactions as a director at Madison Dearborn Partners. Prior to joining Beecken Petty, Phillips was responsible for executing private equity transactions and leading due diligence activities as a vice president with Edgewater Growth Capital Partners.

Pantheon adds McCrary

Dennis McCrary

has joined fund of funds manager Pantheon Ventures as a Chicago-based partner. He previously was a partner with Adams Street Partners, where he was head of the U.S. partnership team.
