Linklaters expands Madrid office

Linklaters has elected Sebastián Albella as a partner in its Madrid office. He joins Linklaters from Ramón & Cajal (Albella, Pala y Ramón & Cajal), where he was one of its founding partners. He will be joined by two of his senior associates, Pilar Lluesma and Ramón Ruiz de la Torre.

Albella was an Abogado del Estado (state attorney) for a number of years, and from 1988 to 1991 was head of the legal department of the Spanish Securities and Exchange Commission. While working as an Abogado del Estado he was involved in the drafting of the current Spanish Securities Market Act and also the current Banking Act.
