TA Associates Inc. raised more than $1 billion combined for TA Atlantic and Pacific VII-A LP and VII-B LP.  The investment vehicles raised $435.58 million and $611.22 million, respectively. Arsenal Capital Partners also collected $300 million towards the $750 million goal of its Arsenal Capital Partners III LP.

In addition, River Associates Investments closed its sixth fund. The Chattanooga, Tenn.-based buyout shop secured $222 million for River VI LP, which had a $200 million target.

On the deals front, Thomson Reuters (Buyouts magazine’s publisher) tracked 18 transactions with U.S.-based financial sponsors from May 17 to May 30. The five with reported financial terms combined for slightly more than $8 billion. A majority of the aggregate came from the $7.15 billion purchase of EP Energy Corp. by Everest Acquisition LLC, a special purpose vehicle formed by Apollo Global Management LLC, Riverstone Holdings LLC, Access Industries Inc. and others. Year-to-date deal volume is at about $28.5 billion.
