Nestle launches E500m fund

Nestle, the Swiss food group, has launched a new growth fund of €500m for investing in science and nutrition companies.

With Nestle planning to expand into the health and wellness sectors, the new fund will aim to support enterprises with products in the final testing stage or close to coming to market. The money will help to grow these businesses to a size that could enable Nestle to integrate them into the mainstream business of the group.

Wolfgang Reichenberger is to step down from his current position as CFP of Nestle to run the fund alongside Gunnar Weikert, founder and chairman of Inventages Venture Capital Investments, a venture capital firm focused on health care and life sciences.
