PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Providence Equity Partners: The Providence Strategic Growth Capital Partners affiliate named Bill Aliber and Brian Shin managing directors. Aliber is ex-chief financial officer of Ascend Learning while Shin was recently a partner at In-Q-Tel.

Skyview Capital named Darryl Smith president of global portfolio operations. Smith will be based in the firm’s new Dallas office. Prior to joining Skyview, Smith was a managing partner at CrimStone Partners.

Charlesbank Capital Partners named Hiren Mankodi a managing director and Camille DeLaite an operating partner-talent. Mankodi was previously a partner at Pamplona Capital. DeLaite most recently was a partner leading human-capital and talent efforts with Green Peak Partners.

General Atlantic: Mark Dzialga, a managing director and chairman of the investment committee, retired, Crunchbase reported. The firm also named Tanzeen Syed a managing director, Mark Garrett a special adviser and Mary Armstrong global head of marketing and communications.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Toshiba Memory: Stacy J. Smith was named executive chairman. Smith previously spent three decades at Intel, where from 2016 to 2018 he was president of manufacturing, operations and sales. A group led by Bain Capital acquired Toshiba Memory in June.

Diversey, backed by Bain Capital Private Equity, named Carlos Sagasta and Gaetano Radaelli deputy CEOs. CEO Ilham Kadri will step down at year-end. Diversey is the Charlotte provider of food hygiene and cleaning solutions.

Gemini Bioproducts, backed by BelHealth Investment Partners, named John Roderick chief operating officer and Scott Kantor chief financial officer. Roderick recently  was director of validation for Gilead Sciences while Kantor spent four years at a BelHealth portfolio company, where he held CFO and COO roles. Gemini makes biological products and chemical reagents for the cell culture community.

FM Restaurants, a Z Capital affiliate, named Randy Sharpe CEO and Ned Algeo CFO. Sharpe previously was senior vice president of operations at Romano’s Macaroni Grill while Algeo was senior director of finance and interim CFO of Real Mex Restaurants. 

GoDaddy Founder Bob Parsons resigned from the board to work full time on businesses he created under Yam WorldWide UmbrellaKKR and Silver Lake acquired GoDaddy in 2011 in a deal valued at $2.25 billion. GoDaddy, a website registration and hosting service, went public in 2015.

Provation, a portfolio company of Clearlake Capital Group, named Tom Monteleone CFO and Jim Mullen senior vice president of global sales.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Perella Weinberg Partners named Jérôme Brassart a managing director in its advisory business. Brassart most recently was a managing director in the power, utilities and infrastructure group at Credit Suisse.

TransPacific Group: Akito Hattori joined as a director in the Hong Kong office. Most recently, Hattori focused on Japanese business development with HarbourVest Partners Japan.

Amherst Partners named Bruce Goldstein a managing director in its restructuring advisory practice. He previously was a managing director at MorrisAnderson & Associates. Goldstein will be based in the Chicago area.

Vaquero Capital, an investment bank, named Danny Allen vice president of operations and general counsel. He was general counsel and chief operating officer at Carousel30 and executive vice president and general counsel at Sensi.

Harbor Capital Advisors named Kristof Gleich president. Gleich joins from J.P. Morgan Wealth Management where he most recently was global head of manager selection.

Harvest Volatility Management named Peter Montgomery an executive director. Montgomery previously was a senior vice president in the client solutions group at Capital Network.

Sidley Austin added Adam Weinstein and Tony Feuerstein to the law firm’s private equity and M&A practices as partners. Both are joining from Akin Gump.

B. Riley Financial named Dan Shribman president of principal investments. Shribman previously worked at Anchorage Capital Group.

LIMITED PARTNERS

Cresset Family Office added Jill Shipley and Vimala Snow to its team. Shipley, based in Palm Beach, Florida, will lead family culture, impact and governance while Snow, based in Denver, will serve as managing director of wealth strategy for the Mountain region. Cressset Family Office was launched by Cresset Capital Management last June.

PROMOTIONS

Maranon Capital promoted Shawn Meador to associate. The firm also hired Derek Kuns for the investment team and Xuan Li and Dalia Paplauskas to the operations team.

MPE Partners promoted Matthew Yohe and Graham Schena to partner, Charlie Rossetti to principal and Evan Fisher to senior associate. Michael Duffy rejoined the PE firm as a vice president.
