PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

3i expanded and enhanced its private equity team with three hires: Nikhil Patel came on board as an associate director in the New York office; Michael Specht joined the Frankfurt team as an associate director as well and Rafik Alili was named an associate in the Paris office. Alili was previously an M&A associate at Lazard Frères.

Ardian named three managing directors for its real estate team: Stéphanie Bensimon, based in Paris; Rodolfo Petrosino, who will be joining the Milan office; and Bernd Haggenmüller in Frankfurt.

Centerview Capital Technology Management LP named Buno Pati a partner. Pati has been an adviser for the firm since 2014. He is founder and former CEO of Numerical Technologies. He also helped launch Nexus Venture Partners.

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice appointed David Scheible an operating adviser to the firm’s funds. Scheible is former chairman and CEO of Graphic Packaging International.

General Atlantic said Eric Zhang joined the firm as managing director and head of China. Zhang is a former global partner and managing director of Carlyle Group.

Harvest Partners LP said named Michael J.P. Klein an adviser. Klein has more than 35 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket, including CEO roles with Armored Auto GroupIDQ Holdings (a manufacturer of automotive A/C products), and Murray’s Discount Auto Stores.

Madison Capital recruited Jesal Jobalia as a director for the originations team. Previously, Jobalia served as a senior vice president at Golub Capital.

RLJ Equity Partners said Daphne Dufresne, a founding partner and a managing director, is leaving the firm to pursue investments in smaller, higher growth companies outside of RLJ’s investment scope. She will serve as a special adviser to the firm.

Twin Brook Capital Partners named Christopher Martin and Pete Notter managing directors. Martin and Notter were previously directors at Madison Capital FundingTherese Icuss and Kim Trick, former directors at Chase Capital, also joined Twin Brook, as vice presidents. Buyouts Insider reported the news of Martin and Notter joining Twin Brook in May.

Warburg Pincus said Jim Prentice joined the firm as an industry adviser in its energy group. He will work with Warburg Pincus to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in Canada, with a focus on energy. Prentice was most recently the 16th premier of Alberta, leading the province’s Progressive Conservative Party.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Carlyle-owned 1insurer, a provider of software for the policy and claims insurance sector, named Yogesh Shinde chief technology officer. Previously, Shinde worked at OptumInsight, which is part of UnitedHealth Group. There, he led the development of the company’s tech teams and its software portfolio.

Broker-dealer network Advisor Group, which is owned by Lightyear Capital LLC, hired Andrea Larsen as chief human-resources officer. Previously, Larsen worked as an HR executive at GE Capital real estate’s North America platform.

CPG International LLC, which is backed by Ares Management LLC and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, named Jesse Singh president and CEO. Singh is succeeding Eric K. Jungbluth, who retired. Singh is the former president of 3M Health Information Systems. Chicago-based CPG makes building products for residential commercial and industrial markets.

CTI Foods, majority-owned by Thomas H. Lee Partners and Goldman Sachs, named Raymond Silcock executive vice president and chief financial officer. Previously, Silcock was chief financial officer at Diamond Foods.

Data Dimensions, a portfolio company of HealthEdge Investment Partners LLC, promoted Kathy Miller to vice president of operations. Data Dimensions, which provides information-management and process-automation services to businesses, is also looking to fill as many as 70 positions.

ERP Power LLC, which is backed by Angeles Equity Partners LLC, named Jeffrey Frank to the board. Frank’s background includes senior executive positions at GE Power Electronics, Lineage Power, Cherokee International, Lambda LEI and Deltec Electronics. ERP, Moorpark, California, provides LED drivers for the lighting sector.

Ideal Image, a provider of aesthetic treatment services, appointed Deborah G. Ellinger president and CEO. Ellinger’s tenures include chairman and CEO of Princeton Review and CEO of Wellness Pet Food. Ideal Image is backed by L Catterton.

Liqui-Box, a portfolio company of Olympus Partners, hired Simon Waller as general manager of Europe-Middle East-Africa, based in Breda, Netherlands. Waller was previously an executive at Scholle IPN and Supreme Corq. Liqui-Box provides packaging for the delivery of liquid and semi-liquid products.

NYDJ Apparel LLC named Lisa Collier president and CEO. Collier was previously with Levi Strauss & Co, where she most recently served as president of Global Dockers and chief transformation officer. NYDJ Apparel is backed by Crestview Partners.

PECO Pallet named Joseph Dagnese CEO. Dagnese was recently president of Con-way Freight and executive vice president at its parent, Con-way Inc. PECO is a Pritzker Group portfolio company.

Vroom named Paul J. Hennessy CEO. He succeeds co-founder Allon Bloch, who will continue as a senior adviser. Hennessy most recently served as CEO of priceline.com. Robert J. Mylod Jr., former chief financial officer and vice chairman of Priceline Group and a current Vroom board member, was named non-executive chairman at Vroom. In 2015 Vroom raised $54 million in funding from investors including Catterton, General Catalyst Partners and T. Rowe Price Associates Inc.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Brean Capital named Christopher Hogg managing director and capital- markets head for debt and equity transactions. Hogg’s background includes product-development head and FIG capital-markets head at Goldman Sachs. He has also worked at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, Macquarie Capital and InCapital.

Investment adviser Cambridge Associates named Vicky Williams senior investment director. Prior to joining Cambridge Williams worked at BP Investment Management, serving as in-house fund manager for the BP Pension Fund.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc’s Don Truesdale, who helped build its financial institutions banking practice and pioneered some of the first deals between hedge funds and banks, is retiring.

Herrick, Feinstein LLP hired hedge- and private equity fund executive Stephen C. Jacobs as partner and co-chair of the firm’s corporate department. Jacobs will continue in his roles as chief operating officer, general counsel and chief compliance officer at Spectrum Group Management.

William W. Stitt joined MTS Health Partners LP as a partner. Stitt was previously a managing director at Deutsche Bank Securities Inc, focused on the biotechnology and healthcare-services sectors.

Nepsis Capital hired Joseph DeZiel as a senior wealth adviser and vice president of practice management. DeZiel’s background includes working as a senior portfolio manager at BlackRock Inc, US Bancorp Private Client Reserve and Wells Fargo Private Client Group.

Prashant Kolluri, a former executive at Investcorp and Sterling Ridge Capital Management, joined investment firm Quest Partners LLC as president.

Reed Smith LLP added Jared Hershberg as partner in the firm’s corporate and transactional advisory group. Hershberg, previously a partner at Winston & Strawn, represents businesses and private equity, growth capital, venture capital, debt and hedge funds, as well as family offices and asset managers.

John Whitmarsh joined Vyze as chief financial officer. Whitmarsh was previously CFO for Zenoss Inc.

PROMOTIONS

3i promoted eight investment professionals in the PE business: Tom Salmon to partner; James Cox and Mark Bakker to director; Sophia Walwyn-James to associate director and Bastiaan Peer, Nicolas Urban, Sachin Jivanji and Severin Matten to senior associate.

Commerce Street Capital promoted Chris Meadows to managing director of the firm’s bank capital group. Previously, Meadows served as senior vice president of the group.

New Enterprise Associates promoted Amit Mukherjee to principal and Blake Wu to senior associate. Mukherjee joined NEA in 2012; Wu came on board in 2014.

Dallas-based PE firm Trive Capital promoted David Stinnett to partner. Stinnett’s responsibilities include identifying and evaluating potential investments, performing due diligence and working with management teams at portfolio companies. Trive invests in equity and debt securities and has $900 million in capital under management.
