Ben Gray, TPG Capital’s co-head of the Asia region, plans to leave the firm once TPG Asia VI is invested, which is expected to be in 2017, according to a TPG spokesman. Gray plans to build a new business focusing on the Australia region once the fund is fully invested, the spokesman said in a statement. TPG will participate along with Gray in the new venture, the spokesman said.

Paula Bosco, a managing director at New Mountain Capital who was the firm’s chief compliance officer and counsel, left the firm on July 31, Managing Director Adam Weinstein confirmed for BuyoutsBosco joined New Mountain in 2009. It’s not clear if she is taking another job. New Mountain has hired a replacement for Bosco, but Weinstein declined to name the person as of press time.

Avante Mezzanine Partners has promoted Dan Moss to principal. Moss has been with Avante since 2012. The company has also hired Aaron DiCenzo as vice president. Prior to joining Avante, DiCenzo worked as a vice president at American Capital.

Blue Sage Capital has named Hunter Todd as an associate. Previously, Todd worked at J.P. Morgan where he served as an analyst in the consumer and retail investment banking group.

Harvest Partners has hired Marc Unger as its chief financial officer. Prior to joining Harvest Partners, Unger served as CFO and COO at CCMP Capital Advisors.

Intermediate Capital Group has named Adam Goodman as a managing director. Previously, Goodman worked at MetLife as head of mezzanine investments.

Irving Place Capital has named Carlos M. Cardoso as a senior advisor. Cardoso is a former chairman and CEO of Kennametal Inc.

Main Line Equity Partners has hired Richard DeFelice as a senior associate. Previously, DeFelice worked at Westinghouse Electric Company as lead analyst in the strategy and corporate development group.

Dr. Scott Braunstein has joined Aisling Capital as an operating partner. Braunstein serves as senior vice president of strategy and corporate development at Pacira Pharmaceuticals.

Steve Cohen’s family office, Point72 Asset Management, has hired Matthew Granade as chief market intelligence officer. Granade is the co-founder of Domino Data Lab.

Richard Lan has joined The Riverside Company as a senior advisor. Lan most recently served as chief customer officer of Maple Leaf Food Group.

TA Associates said that Amara Suebsaeng, Alex Melamud and Max Cancre have rejoined the firm as vice presidents in Boston, Menlo Park and London, respectively. Also, John DiCola has joined the firm as a VP in Boston.

TPG Specialty Lending Inc said that Alan Kirshenbaum is stepping down as CFO effective no earlier than October 2 to pursue a new career opportunity. Upon his departure, COO Robert Ollwerther will assume the role of interim CFO.

Betsy Booth has joined TwinBrook Capital Partners as VP of underwriting. Most recently, Booth was a senior associate at Ares Capital Management.

Vance Street Capital LLC has hired John LeRosen as vice president. Previously, LeRosen worked at Avalon Laboratories where he was chief financial officer.


Asset International Inc, a portfolio company of Genstar Capital, has named Joel Mandelbaum as CEO and president. Also, Mandelbaum has made an undisclosed investment in Asset International. Previously, he was an entrepreneur in residence at Warburg Pincus.

Boston-based Cloud Technology Partners, a provider of cloud computing consulting services, has named Ronald H. Hovsepian to its board of advisors. Hovsepian is CEO of Intralinks Inc. Cloud Technology Partners’ backers include Pritzker Group Venture Capital and Oak Investment Partners.

Eckhart & Associates Inc, which is owned by LFM Capital, has appointed Andrew P. Storm as CEO. Previously, Storm worked at Stratasys as general manager of automotive, aerospace and defense. Based in Lansing, Michigan, Eckhart is a producer of ergonomic tools and solutions for auto and industrial manufacturers.

FreeWave Technologies, a portfolio company of TA Associates, said that co-founder Steve Wulchin is stepping down as president of the company. Wulchin will remain the company’s single largest shareholder and will continue to be actively involved as a board member.

Great Wolf Resorts, which is owned by Centerbridge Partners LP, has named Ruben A. Rodriguez as CEO. The appointment becomes effective September 22. Recently, Rodriguez worked at Carnival Cruise Line where he served as executive vice president of ship operations.

Interface Security Systems Holdings Inc, a provider of cloud-based managed security services, has named Chuck Moeling as chief marketing officer. Moeling’s work background includes consulting with Bain & Company and Accenture. Interface is a portfolio company of SunTx Capital Partners.

Metals Inc, which is backed by Peak Rock Capital, has hired David Zahner as president. Recently, Zahner worked at Ryerson where he served as general manager. Ohio-based Metals Inc is a metal distributor.

MultiView, a portfolio company of Warburg Pincus, has appointed Yariv Drori as vice president of programmatic advertising operations. Prior to joining MultiView, Drori worked at AY Digital where he was general manager and vice president of strategy. MultiView is a B2B marketing solutions provider.

The Wet Seal named Melanie Cox its CEO. Cox succeeds Ed Thomas who is stepping down. Cox was previously chief merchandising manager for retailers including Urban Outfitters, Contempo Casuals (which was acquired by Wet Seal) and The Clothestime. The Wet Seal is a portfolio company of Versa Capital Management LLC.


Evercore has named Jarrett Vitulli as a managing director for its private capital advisory business. Previously, Vitulli worked at Landmark Partners as a managing director.

Intermediate Capital Group has hired Adam Goodman as managing director in its New York office, as the firm targets credit investments out of its dedicated ICG North American Private Debt Fund and other pools. Goodman previously worked as director, head of mezzanine investments, at MetLife Investments for five years, according to his LinkedIn profile. He managed a roughly $1 billion portfolio of direct private debt/mezzanine and credit fund investments for MetLife.

UBS has named Max Justicz as a managing director in its Americas Financial Sponsors Group. Justicz will join UBS in the fall. He joins from Goldman Sachs, where he has served as primary coverage banker for various private equity firms, including Carlyle, CVC Capital, BC Partners, Permira, Riverstone, Silver Lake, New Mountain Capital, Oak Hill and CCMP Capital.

Mid-market investment bank Dresner Partners has named Steve Horkay as a managing director. Previously, Horkay worked at Wedbush Securities as a senior vice president.

Golub Capital has hired Brian Davis as a managing director for its middle-market lending group. Prior to joining Golub, Davis worked at TPG as president and managing director of Sourcing Advisors.

Michigan law firm Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP has hired Alex Plakas as a partner in its private equity practice group. Previously, Plakas worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP where he was responsible for leading middle-market private equity deals.

Online trading platform provider IG Group Holdings Plc said its chief financial officer, Chris Hill, would leave the company early next year to join British investment firm Hargreaves Lansdown Plc as CFO.

Investcorp has hired David Tayeh to head its North America corporate investment business. Previously, Tayeh was a partner at CVC Capital Partners.

Lazard Ltd said Eric Medow has joined the firm as a managing director and co-head of global technology, media and telecommunications, financial advisory. Medow joins Lazard from Citigroup, where he served as head of the global telecommunications group since 2011.

Lebenthal Asset Management LLC has named Barbara Doran as a portfolio manager. She is a former senior portfolio manager and wealth advisor at Morgan Stanley.

Corporate law firm Lowenstein Sandler LLP has added Selim Day as a partner in its tech group. Day was previously a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

Former Oak Investment Partners executive Ren Riley will lead alternative assets at Robertson Stephens, a wealth advisor for high net worth individuals. Riley, who joined the firm this year, will lead a Robertson Stephens-branded venture capital fund, a series of co-branded private equity funds and other pooled asset vehicles. He also will develop the firm’s private share secondary platform and merchant banking practice.

Starwood Retail Partners has named Angela Aman its chief financial officer. Aman spent the last four years as CFO and treasurer of Retail Properties of America Inc. Starwood Retail is the retail operating platform of Starwood Capital Partners.

Stonegate Global said that David Esmie has joined as head of operations in the company’s Atlanta headquarters. He will oversee Stonegate’s fund administration services business. Esmie is a former senior executive at Morgan Stanley Fund Administration and Equinoxe Fund Services.


Bertram Capital has promoted Tom Beerle and Tim Heston to principal. Prior to working at Bertram, Beerle worked at Opus Capital, while Heston worked at Calera Capital.

Genstar Capital has named J. Ryan Clark as president. Clark has been with Genstar since 2004. In 2011, he was appointed managing director. Prior to joining the firm, Clark worked at Hellman & Friedman LLC and Morgan Stanley.

TSG Consumer Partners has promoted Michael Layman to principal. Layman has been with TSG since 2009.
