CVC Capital Partners appointed Jonathan Feuer and Rob Lucas, both partners of the company, to managing partner level. Feuer joined CVC in 1998 and has been involved in deals such as the acquisition of Debenhams and the purchase and recent flotation of Halfords Group.

Lucas has been with CVC since 1996 and has been involved in deals such as the acquisition of the AA, the acquisition and recent flotation of IG Group, and the sale of Kwik-Fit. Michael Smith, chairman of CVC Capital Partners, said: “Their promotion reflects their sustained contribution to CVC over the years and broadens CVC’s senior management team.” The move follows the recent appointment of three directors, Nick Clarry, Rob Hill and Pev Hooper.

  • Richard Atterbury, global co-head of the financial sponsors group at Morgan Stanley is leaving to take the same position at Lehman Brothers. At Lehman, he’ll have the same position but will also chair the European leveraged finance group. Atterbury will be replaced at Morgan Stanley by David Law, deputy head of UK investment banking.
  • Leone Pattofatto will join CSFB as a managing director and head of Italian M&A. He will be based in Milan and report to Luigi de Vecchi, head of Italian investment banking, and Susan Kilsby, European head of M&A and strategic advisory. He will start on September 5. He joins CSFB from Morgan Stanley, where he spent 14 years.
  • BNP Paribas has beefed up its European high-yield and leveraged finance teams with four new hires. Alain Dib will join as deputy head and managing director starting in September, while Douglas Clarisse joined as director on June 20. Both will report to Youssef Khlat, head of European high-yield capital markets. Dib returns to BNP Paribas from Deutsche Bank, where he has worked since 2000 and was most recently a managing director in the European leveraged finance and financial sponsors group. Prior to that, he worked at BNPP for 10 years. Clarisse comes from ABN AMRO in London, where he was executive director, leveraged finance. Prior to that he was at JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank. He also spent six years at BT Alex Brown in New York. In addition, BNPP has hired Andrew Honan from CSFB as an associate in leveraged finance reporting to Mike Johnson and Nicola d’Anselmo, co-heads of leveraged finance. And Tran Toag Dang has joined the bank from Goldman Sachs as a high-yield credit analyst reporting to Aizaz Shaik, director of high-yield research.
  • Polish private equity firm Enterprise Investors named Dawid Walendowski and Jacek Wozniak as partners. Walendowski joined the firm in 1999 and chairs the supervisory boards of Polish DIY retailer Nomi and Romanian supermarket chain Artima. Wozniak sits on the supervisory boards of Agros Nova, the Polish jam and juice producer, and Kruk, a financial services operator. The firm’s latest fund closed at €300m in June 2004 and invests between €3m and €45m.
