Avantor, which is backed by New Mountain Capital, has named Jean-Paul Mangeolleto its board of directors. Most recently, Mangeolle oversaw Merck Millipore’s process solutions business. Based in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, Avantor is a maker of high-performance chemical products.

Echo Therapeutics has named Dr. Michael M. Goldberg to its board of directors. Previously, Goldberg was a managing partner at Montaur Capital Partners. Based in Philadelphia, Echo Therapeutics is a medical device company.

NexTech, a portfolio company of Francisco Partners, has hired David Henriksen as president and CEO. Henriksen succeeds the company’s founder Dr. Kamal Majeed, who will serve on the company’s board of directors. Previously, Henriksen worked at Carestream Health, where he served as president of healthcare information solutions. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, NexTech is a provider of electronic medical records, practice management and marketing software for specialty physician practices.

The Carlyle Group has named Dr. Martin D. Madaus to become chairman and CEO of Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics. The appointment will become effective following the closing of Carlyle’s acquisition of OCD from Johnson & Johnson, which is expected to occur in mid-2014. Eric Compton, president of OCD Worldwide, will continue with the company after the completion of the deal. ODC is a provider of in-vitro diagnostic products for healthcare professionals.
