American Capital Strategies has acquired a majority stake in Imperial Supplies LLC from Norwest Equity Partners for $112 million. Imperial Supplies is a Green Bay, Wis.-based distributor of after-market components to fleet and facility-based markets.

Boston Ventures has agreed to sell Vista III Media, an Atlanta-based regional provider of cable television, high-speed Internet and telephony services, to Harron Communications LP, a Frazer, Penn.-based multi-system cable and communications services company doing business as MetroCast Communications. No financial terms were disclosed. Boston Ventures also is an investor in Harron.

FastBooking, a France-based provider of online hotel booking services, has raised €35 million from 3i Group and Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners. Part of the proceeds will be used to buy out existing shareholders like Iris Capital, with 3i and Rothschild gaining a 62% equity position.

Harvest Partners has completed its sale of U.S. Silica Co. to an affiliate of Harbinger Capital Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. U.S. Silica is a Berkeley Springs, West Va.-based maker of industrial silica sand.

Hermes Private Equity has acquired Beck & Pollitzer for £55 million from Bank of Scotland Integrated Finance. Beck & Pollitzer is a UK-based engineering services company that specializes in the installation and relocation of industrial plant and machinery and associated services.

Industrial Equity Investments Ltd., an international investment firm based in Ireland, has agreed to acquire Tokyo-based agrochemical company Arysta LifeScience Corp. from Olympus Capital Holdings Asia. No financial terms were disclosed for the deal, which is expected to close in early 2008. IEIL is owned by Permira, which provided all of the acquisition’s equity.

Key Principal Partners has sold its investment in Big Rock Sports to senior company executives and Bison Capital Asset Management. Big Rock is a Newport, N.C.-based distributor of hunting, fishing, shooting, marine and camping equipment and supplies. It received $13.1 million in common stock and subordinated debt in 2000 from KPP, as part of a recapitalization led by JPMorgan Partners. JPMorgan has also exited its investment.

Palm Beach Capital has sold its equity interest in Quantum Fine Casework to Wingate Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. QFC is a Weston, Fla.-based manufacturer of high-end customized store fixtures for retailers. Palm Beach was advised on the sale by Farlie Turner & Co.

Parthenon Capital has bought Alarm Security Group from Waud Capital Partners and Northwest Capital Appreciation. No financial terms were disclosed.

Swander Pace Capital has sold Eagle Pack Holdings to private investment firm Berwind Corp. No financial terms were disclosed. Eagle Pack is a Mishawaka, Ind.–based maker of premium natural/holistic dog and cat food.

TA Associates has acquired a majority stake in M and M Direct Ltd. from ECI Partners for an undisclosed amount. M and M is a UK-based online and mail-order retailer of discounted lifestyle, fashion and sports apparel and footwear. Steve Robinson, former CEO of Tesco Direct, will succeed Mike Tompkins as CEO.
